Parwal in Hindi, as in English it is called and Green gourd or Pointed gourd, is a vegetable having many nutritive values. It is cooked along with potatoes & is quite tasty also. There is a sweet dish also made of this vegetable known as Parwal ka murrabba, but the recipe that I am going to share is Parwal aloo.

Preparation time – 25 minutes | Serves – 3
- 250 gms Parwal
- 4-5 potatoes
- 1/4 tsp cummin seeds
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp dhania powder
- 1/4 tsp amchoor powder
- Salt to taste
- 3tbsp oil
- Cut the Parwal into long slices not too thin, even cut the potatoes also lengthwise.
- Now take oil in pan , put the cummin seeds, as they splutter put Parwal, all spices & cook in medium flame.
- When both the vegetables are tender cook for a while & put off the flame.
Your Parwal Aloo is ready ,you can relish it with Dal Chawal as a side dish.
