Bharwa Karela


Karela or bitter gourd is a delicacy I would say is not relished by all, but still I want to share my recipe as I know you all will definitely like to try it.
We get bitter gourd throughout the year, so here goes the recipe
Preparation time – 30 minutes
Serves – 4
250 gms karela ( 4 – 5 pieces )
For the filling
1/4 tsp saunf seeds
1/4 tsp rai
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
3-4 onions chopped
1 tsp amchoor powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp dhania powder
3 tbsp oil
* First scrape the skin of karelas, rub salt in the skin& karelas. Keep aside for 3-4 hours.
* Now wash the karelas and take out the water, fry them till golden brown alongwith the skin, keep the fried karela aside.
* Mix the fried skin & spices of the filling well & fill in the karela.
*Take little oil in pan,cook the karelas for a little while, then sprinkle water in it & close the lid,immediately, put off the gas
Your bharwa karela are ready.
Enjoy them with parathas
Garnish with green coriander.
