Suji Matthi& Panchphodan Aloo Subzi


Suji matthi & panchphodan Aloo subzi is a very unique combination. I am very sure that all matthi lovers are definitely going to love these suji or semolina matthis.

Panchphodan are spices with a combination of 5 spices
Jira, Ajwain, Saunf, Mangrella or onion seeds, Methidana.These all 5 spices are used in tempering the aloo tomato subzi that gives tangy taste to the dish . One can really relish it with Suji matthi
Here goes the recipe
Preparation time Suji Matthi – 30 minutes
Makes – 25-30 matthis
250 gms suji / semolina
1/ 4 tsp onion seeds
Salt to taste
Mix the ingredients in suji & knead it quite wet. Leave it aside for about an hour. As semolina absorbs water it needs a rest before it is deep fried or make matthis.It is an ideal Sunday brunch.
Now prepare small puris & deep fry them. Your suji matthis are ready
Now for the subzi
1 /2kg potatoes cut in cubes
1 tsp panchphodan spices
3 tomatoes chopped
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp oil
Take oil in pressure cooker. Put panchphodan spices & chopped tomatoes. Fry well add all other spices
Put the potatoes& add 2 cups water& close the lid . Take 3-4 whistles of cooker and put off the gas .
Your Aloo subzi is ready
