My mother was very much fond of this dish so therefore I dedicate this dish to her. May her soul rest in peace.
Though this dish is quite fulfilling but you shall enjoy it a lot.Here goes the recipe
For the Imli aloo
Boil 3-4 potatoes. Peel them & keep aside.
Take 2 tsp oil in pan ,put jira,hing,& crush the boiled potatoes. Add 1 tsp red chilli powder&pulp of imli or tamarind. Put salt to tadte. Bring it to a boil. Now keep this imli aloo aside.
Fro the filling
Take oil in pressure cooker. Put jira ,1 tsp red chilli powder,1/2 tsp turmeric powder & salt to taste. Add 1 cup chana dal add 2 cups of water . Take 4 whistles of cooker. Make sure that dal is cooked & the filling is dry.
Now knead whole wheat flour. Make small balls ,fill the filling &roll out parathas. Cook them crisp on both sides.Enjoy with imli aloo
