Methi Matthi with chilli flakes 

Due to festivities I made Matthi with a twist. I added Kasuri methi & Chilli flakes. It really came out very well. This was something unique to my preparation of Matthi. Do try the recipe, your family will also enjoy as my daughter did.Just have a look.

Now have a look at the method & ingredients 

1cup maida/ all purpose flour 

4tbsp oil for moin

3tsp chilli flakes 

4tsp Kasuri methi rubbed well with hands 

Salt to taste 

Method 

Mix all the ing& knead a medium soft dough. Make small balls and roll out puris , pierce both sides with the help of fork. Now deep fry them in oil in medium flame till light brown.Make them cool & now you can store them in a tight container.

Achaari Bhindi

You will just love this recipe of mine of Achaari Bhindi. 

It is really a scrumptious dish to be enjoyed with tandoori roti & Dal Tadka.

Just have a look at the delicious recipe. Here it is 

1kg Bhindi slited

1tsp each spices Red chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder, salt & amchur powder to taste.

Take 2 tsp mustard oil in pan ,add 3chopped onions, saute them add the slited Bhindi with all the spices.Never cook Bhindi covering it. Always keep it open & cook till tender. When done add 2 tsp of pickle Masala & serve hot with Tandoori Roti.

Fried Chapatis 

Fried Chapatis as by its name ,it is for sure made from leftover Chapatis.It is crispy & loved by all.

Here it goes.

Make 4 pieces of the leftover Chapatis. Deep fry them. Sprinkle Red chilli powder & salt to taste when done. Now you can enjoy them.

Besan Arbi


This besan arbi is my daughter’s favourite. Therefore I dedicate it to my daughter Priya . You will also love this recipe. Just have a look at it, soooo tempting.

Here goes the recipe 

Boil 6-7 big sized arbi. Take only 2 whistles. Peel off the arbi & cut them lengthwise. Deep fry them till golden brown. Now take 2 tsp oil in pan put 1 tsp ajwain seeds, put the fried arbi ,1 tsp Red chilli powder & amchur powder,salt to taste,mix well. Now sprinkle 3 tsp besan in it & mix well.Put little water also ,the besan & Masala will mix well. Your Besan Arbi is ready.

Stuffed Mirchi 

Stuffed mirchi looks very tempting & are relished by all. You can taste the filling with the spice of mirchi.There are many types of filling . But I am filling boiled potatoes with other spices in it . Just have a look 

Here goes the recipe 

First wash & wipe 5-6 moti green chillies. Now boil 4-5 potatoes. Nash them well add  1 tsp each red chilli powder,s alt to taste & amchur powder. Add 2 onions chopped also. Mix well & fill it in the mirchi. Now take 2 tsp oil in pan & put the mirchi. Cook in low flame till done. Now you can serve hot with parathas.

Baigan Bharta 

Baigan bharta is made in many ways. It is one of the favourite dish from  Punjabi . Punjabis simply love it either with missi roti or lachcha paratha. 

Normally the Baigan  / Eggplant is roasted in gas to give it a smoky flavour, but I tried making it today on a simple pan.

Now.here goes the recipe

2 medium sized round baigan peeled & diced

2chopped onions 

3chopped tomatoes 

2 tbsp ginger garlic paste 

1cup boiled frozen peas (green fresh peas in winter)

1tsp red chilli powder 

Salt to taste 

2cups water

1tsp garam masala 

Now take 2tbsp oil in pan. Add the ginger garlic paste, chopped onions,saute them. Now add chopped tomatoes,spices& fry well. As tomatoes are done put the baigan pieces in it alongwith the water. Close the lid of the pan. After 10 minutes open the lid ,as the baigan gets tender, mash it with a masher, now add the boiled peas & fry for a while. Then add garam masala serve hot with Dal Chawal or Lachcha Paratha.A typical Punjabi food combo.

Singhara Atta Pakoras 

Singhara Atta is used during fasting. We in India make pakoras of this flour during the fast. You also can have a look at the recipe. Here it goes 

Take 1cup singhara atta. Add 3 grated potatoes,and put 3 finely chopped green chillies. Add sendha salt to taste,1 tsp red chilli powder, & grated potatoes. Fry small pakoras & serve hot.

Enjoy hot pakoras with curd
