Gajar ki Kaanji

Gajar  ki Kaanji or Carrots water with mustard seeds is a must in every Punjabi house in winters. It is prepared with the maroon coloured carrots , which we get in the north. Here I have made from normal carrots & 1beetroot.

Here is the recipe 

2carrots cut in big pieces lengthwise 

1beetroot cut lengthwise 

5cups water

Salt & red chilli powder to taste 

3tsps rye paste

Mix all ingredients well in a 3 ltr glass jar . Keep it in the sun for 2 days . On the third day your kanji is ready.

Relish the drooling taste.
