I love South Indian food especially Idli with Sambhar,& chutney. I also love eating Podi idli too. So I thought of sharing the recipe.
500 gms pkt of MTR Idli powder
Half cup sour curd
Mix all the ingredients & let it rest for 5minutes. Put water in idli cooker to boil.Now take the idli batter & accordingly put the batter in idli maker & cook till done. Prepare the idlis from the remaining batter. Your idlis are ready.
Take 1 cup tuar dal ,add 1carrot chopped,1potato chopped, put 1 tsp turmeric powder,& salt to taste. Take 3 whistles open lid when done.
Now for tempering,Take 2 tsp oil in pan ,add 1 tsp rye,5-6 curry leaves & 3 tsp Sambhar powder,1tsp amchur powder,put this in the vegetables mixed Dal & boil well. Your Sambhar is ready.
Soak 3tbsp roasted chana, grind into paste in mixer. Temper with 1tsp oil,rye ,& red chilli powder to taste.
For Podi idli
You get ready-made Podi masala from the market. Cut the idlis into 4 .Now take 2 tsp oil in pan add 3 tbsp podi masala.Put the idlis & toss well. Serve hot.
